Aahana Resort is situated near the Bijrani zone of Corbett National Park. It is a beautiful lush green resort surrounded by the forest and is just a 5 hour drive away from Delhi. The fresh air, warm staff and the stunning view makes the stay even more memorable.
ABOUT THE RESORT – Spread over 11 acres, the property is absolutely blissful to stay at. There were so many activities inside the resort to choose from; apart from the usual safari, there is a nature walk inside the premises with their Naturalist, Mr.Ramesh Barlow who introduced us to vast varieties of flaura and fauna. I still can’t get over their Sindoor tree and Odomos plant inside the premises.
- My favorite part of the Resort was their organic garden which was visible across the path to our villas. With so many fresh produce right in front of your eyes is mind blowing.
- The Resort also has their own Bio gas plant, Food waste management system and Gaushala (which wasn’t stinky at all). It was tremendous to see the zero waste policy they have applied almost everywhere.
ROOMS – Spread over 11 acres, the property has over 50 rooms/Villas to choose from. My villa which opened up to the forest from one side and the park on the other side. The rooms are designed in such way that there is plenty of natural light all through the day cutting down on electricity wastage . The wooden Interiors added an old world charm to the whole place.
- Waking up to birds chirping outside your room is such an underrated luxury which I realized while staying at the resort.
- The bathroom again followed a no waste policy by using Bamboo jars for most of their storage. This little but significant changes makes you understand how every step in the right direction can lead to less wastage and an eco-friendly resort.
FOOD – The restaurant which had both indoor and outdoor sitting area was huge and overlooked the swimming pool and forest. Plus the menu kept on changing and they usually had local cuisine always on the menu which was so amazing. I got to try some delectable dishes thanks to their vast menu.
EVENINGS – Usually when you’re on a holiday, are the evenings spent either in the room lazing or waiting for dinner? But at Aahana, apart from walking (thanks to the huge paths I finished walking my 12k steps daily), they had Trampoline for adults (woohoo), hammocks and live music by the pool. The musical evenings with the bon fire and amazing company was absolutely magical. We even had our dinner there.
WEDDINGS – Talking to the caretakers of the resort (who were so humble), we got to know about the green wedding initiative by the resort. Come to think of it, it’s a perfect place to hold a destination wedding and is not quite far from Delhi. Nothing like celebrating your big day in the lush green surroundings and fresh air, right!?
Solo travel teaches you to be much more attentive of the surroundings. I have realised that you can stay at the best of places and spend money but if the staff isn’t good the whole experience goes for a toss. The staff at Aahana is humble, smiling, open to suggestions and adjusting; which makes the whole stay worthwhile.
